    Questions about My Stack

How much does a small business spend on software?

It varies widely by business type. A solo operator can run on free plans plus one or two paid tools, while a small team paying per-seat for chat, video calls, docs and project management adds up fast. The useful number is your own: add the tools you pay for here and you’ll see your monthly and yearly total, plus where a cheaper tool would do the same job.

Where do the prices come from?

Each tool starts at the cheapest paid price we list, which we check against the vendor’s official pricing page. Tools marked verified were checked on the date shown, and every change we find is logged on Price Watch with a link to the source. You can overwrite any price with what you actually pay, including seats and discounts.

Is my stack saved or shared with anyone?

Your stack is stored only in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a link, which encodes the tools and prices in the URL itself.

How do the swap suggestions work?

Swaps are hand-picked pairs of tools that do the same core job, shown only when the alternative lists for less than what you pay. They’re a starting point, not a verdict: check the features you rely on before switching. Some swap links are affiliate links (disclosure); that never decides which swaps we list.
